Cadets have the opportunity to attend specialized training during the summer (summer camp). There are a variety of summer training courses, which become progressively more challenging. Senior cadets also have the opportunity to work during the summer as staff cadets at Cadet Training Centres, or apply for an international exchange.
You are not guaranteed a spot on a summer training course, and cadets are selected to attend summer training based on their attendance, behaviour, and other attributes that they’ve demonstrated throughout the cadet training year.
Please review the information below to make your selections for summer training! Submit your applications as soon as possible, respecting the deadlines.

There are three types of summer training options available to cadets. Consult the information in the tabs below to learn more about what is available to you this summer!
Cadets in the Green and Red Star training levels (years 1 and 2) are eligible to attend the Cadet Activity Program (CAP). CAP is a 'day camp' style summer training program, that will take place in our local area. Cadets will attend CAP to train common cadet skills with other local cadet Corps and Squadrons. This year, the CAP program will be hosted at 364 Lancaster Squadron's facility at Windsor airport.
Cadets will have to be transported to and from the airport for each day of the CAP training program. Lunch will be provided.
Cadets who are enrolled in the Silver Star training level (third year) and above are eligible to attend a cadet summer training course at a Cadet Training Centre (CTC). CTCs are cadet summer training facilities that are located throughout Canada at Canadian Armed Forces bases. Cadets can attend training in a wide variety of subjects: expedition, music, military drill, leadership, fitness and more! These courses prepare cadets to act as leaders back at the Corps.
Courses range in length, from 2 to 4 weeks. Some courses are entirely online, while some have a distance-learning portion that precedes the in-person portion (called 'hybrid' courses).
Travel, accommodation and meals are all provided by the Canadian Armed Forces. Cadets will also be provided a modest training allowance which covers personal expenses while at the CTC (e.g., toiletries, small snacks, etc.).
Cadets who are aged 16 years or older before the start of summer training can apply to work as a staff cadet. Staff cadets are the NCOs of the Cadet Training Centre (CTC), and take active roles throughout the areas of training or training support. They works in a variety of different positions, which are appointed following a week-long training period at the start of the summer. Staff cadets can also work at the local-area CAPs. These are excellent opportunities to develop leadership skills in an environment supported by military staff.
Cadets can apply to 'staff' at CTCs in Ontario and (when available) elsewhere in Canada. Travel, accommodation and meals are all provided to staff cadets. Staff cadets are paid, work in shifts and receive time off.
Our Corps has been assigned a number of course "serials". Course serials are the individual course sessions which are offered through the summer. Browse the following PDF document to see which dates these courses are offered, and make a note of which ones you are interested in. Be sure to review the descriptions for these courses above.
Note that courses are offered across the country. Transportation will be provided free of charge for all cadets attending a course at a cadet training centre, even if it is across the country!
Once your have learned about your summer training options, and browsed the available course serials above, you are ready to submit your application. Use the form to submit your summer training preferences (up to 3).
